Toiletry drive going on now!

As you MS4s out there are going on interviews (best of luck!) bring us back those great freebies from the hotels! We'd love to have any soaps, shampoos, conditioners, combs, toothpaste, toothbrushes, combs, etc. Just drop them in the box by the orange elevators in the LRC. Patients at HOMES Clinic are often in need of basic hygiene items. Thank you for your support!

Interested in getting Extracurricular Elective credit?

We have two opportunities for you:

1. Volunteer at HOMES on at least 2 different Sundays within the year (starting August) and receive Extracurricular Elective credit for your service.

This was recently changed from 4 times, due to high demand. We want everyone to get credit! You will be recognized for completing volunteer hours for multiple school years if applicable (your Extracurricular Elective will reflect that you volunteered over the course of MS1 to MS3 and became a manager, for example). You have to sign up so that we can track your hours and submit your name for credit! And don't forget to sign the volunteer book each Sunday before you leave the clinic.

*NOTE: We are limiting sign-ups to 4 per year for each student, to give everyone an opportunity to volunteer who is interested. If there are extra available spots, then we will allow those students who have already reached their maximum to volunteer.

2. Attend our "Street Medicine Lecture Series" during the fall and spring!

Our lecturers will be discussing a range of topics concerning different aspects of homelessness, how to address these issues as a clinician, and various resources available for those in need. It is a great supplement to volunteering. You must attend at least 4 of the 6 lectures and fill out an online evaluation at the end of the series to receive credit. The lecture schedule for the 2015-2016 school year is shown belowcheck it out to get an idea of the topics that are usually covered!
